When the global COVID-19 pandemic struck New York City, I received several messages from friends/family asking (jokingly) if I planned to crochet facemasks. Their questions started my thought process. I began to research patterns, fabrics, sewing machines, and places where I could buy these sought after resources. 

​I understood intuitively that protection required both high-quality fabric and iconic cultural images within our communities that offered emotional/mental strength.  

Dia de Los Muertos fabrics were sold as holiday fabric in limited print. There were the prints I sought to reinforce the power of our ancestors. We are the seeds that refused to die. We required the spiritual protection of our ancestors. ​

With this energy, I began to sew Gloryalicious HandCrafted Facemasks, 100% cotton, 3 pleats with pocket (for extra protection) and cloth ties (later replaced with elastic ear loops). This time was a purpose filled pandemic as I worked hard to ensure all orders were filled/delivered on time. Satisfaction guaranteed.
